We are a small kennel in Minnesota, Land of Ten Thousand Lakes. My husband Jerry and I got our first Akita from Pam Peterson in 1988 while living in Kentucky. It was love at first sight. I had always had dogs, but after getting into Akita’s, there was no looking back. Our first Champion was Am/Can Ch. Royal’s Will E’ Make It. He was a true ambassador of the breed. Our granddaughter learned to walk holding onto Willie’s ruff. He took little bitty baby steps, taking care not to step on his “baby”. We value and demand a stable temperament in our dogs. All dogs are tested for hip dysplasia, eye abnormalities, thyroid, and general health before breeding. We rarely have more than one litter per year, usually only breeding for the next show pup for ourselves. We believe the Akita as a whole is becoming overbred, thus attributing to poor health and temperaments overall. We love to talk about our dogs and very open about any problems in our lines that we are aware of. A dog is for life and we look for those individuals willing to take on that commitment. Come on in and take a look around. If you like what you see, give us a holler!
